Well, it's been an interesting year. Being blown off by mechanical companies here in town is frustrating but we had a new one come up that was very knowledgeable and changed our thinking of how to implement our economizer.
We've decided to purchase a new A/C unit that has an economizer built in. This makes more sense as the A/C company has already completed the engineering it takes to make the economizer work. In addition, we obtain a redundant A/C for our data center.
Now is the time to get this done because as I'm writing this at 7am, August 15, 2008, it's 50.67 degrees outside of the data center which means since last night around 8pm, our data center would have been cooled entirely with outside air. Pretty exciting. I've included an image. More updates coming soon.
