Arrival of the new A/C

Friday we had our new Trane A/C with economizer delivered and set into place. We just need the duct work and electrical finished and we'll be in business. The Trane came with standard filters that we'll be replacing with high quality ones to prevent any dust/dirt from entering our data center.




Some fun calculations so far. This unit will run at 10Amps when the economizer is at 100% which means 100% of the air will come via outside air. This is about 5 fully loaded rack servers which really puts it into perspective. This will immediately reduce our cooling costs by 3/4!

On order..

Our new Trane unit is on order with a estimated delivery date in 2 weeks. Let's hope it gets here sooner as we're running < 70 degrees most of the days here in Morrison, Colorado right now. That equals free cooling!
